Jara Bravo- Paulo Bernardo, Brazil’s Communication Minister, has alerted about the fact that the Google Company is recently growing into being a colossal monopoly of Brazilian media. The minister has assured that, if this trend continues, Google could come to supress the telecommunication and television companies.
Bernardo pointed out that the firm could be evading taxes or selling services on the Internet, without the traditional media responsibilities. Furthermore, according to recent studies, Google gained 1.450 million dollars in advertisements in the country, but paid on the exterior.
The measures adopted to stop the gigantic company have still not been discussed, but the minister has made clear the need of a regularization of the sector. However, Bernardo’s intention is not to control the media’s content, but it’s process of action.
