Irina Barnés.- After blocking its page in the Asiatic country during almost two months, The Wall Street Journal has announced various changes on its organisation, amongst which the appointment of a new manager.
The announcement has been made by Gerard Bakerel, The Wall Street Journal’s chief editor, through a communicate where he announced that Li Yuan, former redactor of the newspaper during five years, has been nominated main editor of the journal’s Chinese version. Hence, she has become the first woman in charge of directing the gazette, producing the national and international coverage of diverse events and exercise as the publication’s mentor.
This news have come to light after the Chinese Government raised the blockade, one month ago, of The Wall Street Journal’s webpage in China. This restriction was caused by the report on the links between criminals and First Minister Wen Jiabao, carried out by the New York Times. For this reason, El País and The Guardian are still inaccessible.
